Davies Students and Alumni Build Beds for Local Youth at Bunks Across America

Community service and hands-on skill-building came together this past weekend as Davies students and an alumnus partnered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) for their 8th Annual Bunks Across America (BAA) event.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a Rhode Island nonprofit committed to ending child bedlessness by building and delivering fully furnished beds to children ages 3–17 who are currently sleeping on floors, couches, or air mattresses.

During the build, our volunteers worked collaboratively to prepare materials for 10 beds destined for local families at no cost to them. Each bed built represents not just timber and hardware, but dignity, comfort, and security for a child in need.
