9th Grade - CTE Program Preference Survey on 1/15/26
Attention Families of the Class of 2029:
I hope 2026 has started well for you! I’m writing to share an upcoming and important milestone in your student’s experience at Davies.
By the middle of next week, all 9th-grade students will have completed their Career and Technical Education (CTE) rotations. They will all have had the opportunity to experience each CTE program offered at Davies and gain a snapshot of the skills, learning, and career pathways associated with each one.
On Thursday, January 15th, during first period, all 9th-grade students will complete a brief survey in which they will identify their top three CTE program preferences. In the days that follow, counselors will work to place students in their ideal program for the start of the 2nd semester. Please note that a student's first choice is not always guaranteed, but we're confident that they'll be enrolled in one of the three they select.
Because this is a very important decision, we strongly encourage you to take some time before next Thursday, to speak with your student about:
- their experiences during CTE rotations
- the programs they found most engaging
- where they feel most motivated to learn and grow
Below is a list of the ten CTE programs your student has explored during rotations. You can learn more about each program by visiting this page of our website.
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Automotive Careers
- Biomanufacturing Technology
- Cybersecurity
- Education/Childcare
- Electrical & Renewable Energy
- Health Careers
- Hospitality Careers (Culinary)
- Graphics & Interactive Media
- Pre-Engineering Technology
For reference, as well as to support conversations at home, a snapshot of the first part of the survey that students will complete is pictured below. The same questions are asked of their 2nd and 3rd preferences.

Thank you for your continued support of your student’s career exploration and decision-making. We’re excited to see the Class of 2029 take this next step in their high school journey.
Respectfully,
Jose Libano, Ed.D.
Principal/Associate Director
