A group of students and police officers pose together in a classroom setting.Mr. Brotschi’s Criminal Justice class recently welcomed Lieutenant Joseph Anterni and Sergeant Patrick Tordoya of the Lincoln Police Department for an engaging discussion on arrests, investigations, and the 4th, 5th, and 8th Amendments — the ones that protect citizens’ rights regarding searches, seizures, and policing.

The officers began by sharing their personal stories and what inspired them to enter law enforcement, then opened the floor for a thoughtful Q&A session. Students asked insightful questions, connecting what they’ve learned in class to real-world experiences.

This visit helped put a human face on policing, offering valuable perspective beyond textbooks and media portrayals.

Afterward, the group enjoyed lunch in the Patriot Room, where Chef Santos generously comped their meals — a gesture the officers truly appreciated!

💛🖤 Another great example of how Davies connects classroom learning with real-world insight!
