Food Delivery Services Not Permitted at Davies

Posted Date: 9/16/25 (3:00 PM)

Dear Students and Families,

We want to remind everyone that food delivery services such as UberEats, DoorDash, Grubhub, and similar companies are not permitted at William M. Davies, Jr. Career & Technical High School.

This policy is in place first and foremost for the safety of our school community. Delivery drivers are not affiliated with the school and are strangers to our staff and students. Allowing them to drop off food would create unnecessary access to the school, as well as contact between students and individuals who are unknown to us, which we cannot allow for security reasons.

To support this policy:

  • school secretaries have been directed to turn away delivery drivers who attempt to drop off food
  • signage has been posted at our entrances to make it clear that deliveries will not be accepted
  • students may bring their own breakfast or lunch from home if they wish
  • Davies continues to provide free breakfast and lunch for all students each day, ensuring that every student has access to healthy meals without the need for a food delivery
We ask for your cooperation in reinforcing this message with your child. Food deliveries disrupt the school day, create logistical challenges for staff, and most importantly, compromise the safe and secure environment that we are committed to maintaining.

Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us uphold this policy.

Respectfully,

Jose Libano
Principal

No Food Deliveries Davies does not allow or accept food deliveries for students from DoorDash, GrubHub, Uber Eats, or other paid delivery services. All deliveries will be denied.
