May Asian America Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage MonthMay is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month. Also commonly abbreviated as AAPI, the month of May is dedicated to raising awareness of AANHPI communities and the impact they have had on American history/future success. As advisors of Davies' Asian Culture & Anime Club, we have provided each of you with some resources for you!

Don't forget to support local AANHPI businesses too! Below is a list of our recommendations. It is primarily restaurants because food is a great entryway into culture!
  • Good Fortune Supermarkets - Asian Supermarket in Providence by the zoo.
  • Apsara - Thai, Vietnamese, & Chinese Food in Providence
  • Pho Horn - Vietnamese Food in Pawtucket
  • Den Den - Korean Fried Chicken in Providence
  • Swad - Indian Food in East Providence
  • Kabob and Curry - Indian Food in Providence
  • Sura - Korean BBQ in Johnston
  • Jayd Bun - Authentic Chinese Food in S.Kingstown (very good but takeout only); Rated #2 in the nation
We hope this is helpful, and we hope to see you at one of our two meetings in May. We are meeting on Thursday, May 15th, and Thursday, May 29th!

Have a great day!

All the best,
Mrs. San Bento  and  Mr. DuPont
