To me, leadership is about servicing communities and igniting others' ability to be impactful beings. Being a true leader is realizing that it's not about titles or recognition, but about learning and bringing new ideas to the table, all while remaining rooted in communities that really require attention and support. Always remaining humbled, open, and excited about the contributions those on your team have are all characteristics of a good leader.
Future plans: Nursing major, Class of 2029
Leadership to me means empowering others to reach their full potential and fostering a sense of community and collaboration. A true leader doesn't just give orders—they listen, inspire, and motivate their team to work towards a common goal. It's about building trust, taking calculated risks, and being accountable for one's actions. Leadership is not just a title, but a mindset and a set of skills that can be developed over time with practice, self-awareness, and a willingness to learn and adapt. Effective leaders bring out the best in others and leave a lasting impact on those around them.

Leadership to me doesn’t only mean holding a role, it means I give people a visual of how to be the best version of themselves. I can reach my best goals while inspiring others to achieve the same goal. It also allows me to use my voice for better things.
Leadership means setting a positive example, supporting others, and stepping up. To me, a true leader listens and leads with action and direction. In the future, I plan to grow as a leader through community involvement, whether it be mentoring or advocacy. In doing this, I’m committed to being a leader who uplifts and inspires others to be their best.
To me, leadership means being present—not just when things are easy, but especially when they’re tough. I’ve learned that being a leader isn’t always about being the loudest or most outgoing, but about having the willingness to put in the work. In the future, I want to take on bigger leadership roles in sports, like mentoring and coaching younger players. I also want to carry those lessons off the field into other areas of my life and try out some new extracurriculars.
To me, leadership means being someone others can rely on—not just for direction, but for support, encouragement, and positivity. As a member and treasurer of the National Honor Society and Student Council, leadership is about setting an example through actions; showing responsibility, staying involved, and always trying to do what’s right. Being in a leadership position has taught me the value of being responsible, and I will continue to do that by being dependable, staying organized, and always doing my part. Whether it's helping plan events or managing money as treasurer, I’ve learned that good leaders show up, support others, and make choices that help everyone.
