Spotlight: Dr. David Rowley Visits Davies’ Biomanufacturing Technology Program!

Posted Date: 2/10/25 (7:00 PM)

This week, Dr. David Rowley, a distinguished researcher from the University of Rhode Island, visited Davies' Biomanufacturing Technology program to inspire students with his groundbreaking work in natural product research and antibiotic resistance.

Dr. Rowley and his team explore marine and terrestrial environments to discover new ways to combat infectious diseases. His research focuses on molecular methods to fight antibiotic resistance and uncovering molecules that mediate interactions between marine microbes.

During his visit, he encouraged our students to explore natural products—including those their ancestors may have used—and even consider isolating molecules with potential real-world applications. This hands-on approach aligns perfectly with our program’s mission to equip students with cutting-edge laboratory skills and prepare them for careers in biotechnology.

We’re excited to see how this visit inspires future breakthroughs from our talented students!
