The William M. Davies, Jr. Career and Technical High School is
named a 2013 National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education
William M. Davies, Jr. Career & Technical High School has been named a 2013 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. Davies was one of two schools in Rhode Island and one of 286 schools nationwide to receive this distinguished award. This national program recognizes public and private schools where students perform at very high levels or where significant improvements are being made.
In partnership with teachers, parents and staff, Davies has improved student's achievement by improving classroom instruction and expanding the curriculum, provided rigorous professional development and used data to assess student achievement gaps. Davies students not only are able to improve their academic levels in the core subject areas, they are able to achieve industry-based certifications and advanced college credit with the help of the business community and institutions of higher education.
